The Agriculture and Land-based Training Association's (ALBA) Farm Incubator Toolkit is a resource aimed to help other organizations that are interested in starting a farm incubator program.
We have crated a learning and production program that uses elements and strategies that are easy and inexpensive to implement, keep and mange while providing fast returns and multiple marketing opportunities (poultry, small ruminants and agroforestry) while using ecologically and financially sustainable strategies.
"Farmers in this program are provided with the information, know-how, skills, and techniques needed to make informed decisions to enhance the success of their farm enterprise. This is achieved through education and training in crop production, small livestock production and farm financial management.
The Farmer Education Program Resource Guides, created by the Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA), are the result of many years' work to provide and improve its educational programs.
"The Farmers Incubator Project is a model for sustainable economic development and social justice. Consisting of a demand driven series of programs providing farmland, resources, education, training and assistance in Spanish, this program address the specific needs of emerging Latino farmers in urban settings.
"Women are generating a cultural tide in American agriculture that is moving management, assets and opportunities to a new wave of beginning farmers and ranchers across the country. This project brings educational teams or working groups together to benefit women beginning, mid-career, and retiring farmers and ranchers in 20 states.
Through a series of educational, technical assistance, and networking opportunities, WAgN works to increase the number of women owning and operating profitable farms and ag-related businesses, as well as their profile in leadership positions throughout the agricultural sectors of business, government and community.
