The certified organic Ecosystem Farm "serves as a teaching model for sustainable agriculture and the future of farming." "The Center for Agricultural and Environmental Stewardship was created to teach and inspire people to use principles and practices of sustainability in agriculture and everyday life.

"Farm Stewards may develop their own businesses at the Seed Farm in years two and three of the training program. The Seed Farm rents land, infrastructure, and equipment at reduced rates. The Seed Farm also provides mentorship to help Farm Stewards successfully start their new farm businesses.

"Seed Farm Apprenticeships run from February through November. Apprentices must participate in all parts of the program including: the introductory class, 20 hours-per-week of training and collaborative work in The Seed Farm’s market garden, as well as the organic vegetable production course.

The Organic Education Center (OEC) provides “experiential learning opportunities in biologically sound urban agriculture." The Center “works as a regional resource hub for sustainable food growing." The Center also offers hands-on community classes on organic food growing and urban composting.

"The Farley Center farm incubator will become a regional hub of support for beginning growers. These growers will learn valuable information on organic farming, make key contacts through attendance at workshops and conferences, and have opportunities to share their own substantial knowledge of farming.

FARRMS Foundation for Agricultural and Rural Resources Management and Sustainability manages a grant and loan program for producers of sustainable projects, certified organic or transitioning producers, growers dedicated to sustainable gardeners, and communities with projects related to the sustainability of low-income people.

Cultivate Kansas City's Urban Farmer Development program provides one on one technical assistance and other services for new and experienced farmers to start, run or improve their farm businesses. They also assist urban market growers.
