Food Roots Individual Development Accounts

Food Roots Individual Development Account program participants are committed to saving a minimum of $25 a month for a minimum of six months (or a maximum of 3 years). The savings are matched at a 3:1 rate. Participants can save a maximum matched savings of $1,000 a year ($3,000 will be matched for their $1,000 saved). If they participate in the program for 3 years, their total in matched savings would be $9,000, in addition to their own savings of $3,000. A total of $12,000 can be acquired for the 3 year maximum, inclusive of personal savings and matched money to assist with their business start-up or expansion.
