Program is available and open to anyone in the southeast U.S. including AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, VA, VI, WV.

The Land Acquisition and Tenure module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement farm tenure and transfer goals as part of the whole farm plan.  Established farmers who are planning for the transfer of farm may also find their module useful.

The Holistic Business Management module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement early financial and resource management goals as part of the whole farm plan.

The Marketing module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement their goals for market analysis, product establishment, and development of viable marketing channels.

The purpose of the Introduction to Whole Farm Planning module is to help beginning farmers and ranchers in Virginia to make informed farm planning decisions by introducing them to the whole farm planning process.

"The North Carolina Agriculture Cost Share Program helps address nonpoint pollution by providing technical and financial resources to prevent damage to our water resources from soil erosion, excessive fertilizer use, animal waste contamination, and improper use of agricultural chemicals.

"The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Agribusiness Development Office is conducting a pilot project to loan small batch dairy pasteurizers to specialty farmstead dairy producers in North Carolina.

"All activities below will be conducted in a culturally appropriate manner in the client's language.  Curriculum will cover business filing, documentation of cash receipts and taxes. Also, the needs of marketing outlets will be identified and conveyed to clients to better align both parties' interests.

"Alabama A&M University's (AAMU) Small Farms Research Center has a long history of serving the needs of small, limited resource and socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers in Alabama. Since 2008, the Center has assisted over 300 agricultural producers through value-added producer grants, crop insurance, cost-share and loan programs.

Sponsoring Organization:

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) Young Farmer Training Program (YFTP) is a paid multi-year farming apprenticeship for youth in Wake County. The IFFS Raleigh Teaching Farm hosts apprentices two days per week beginning each Spring.

The Farmers Adopting Computer Technology (FACT) project is designed to train farm families one-on-one or in group settings how to use computers for their farming operations in order to become more competitive in the market place.
