The Land Acquisition and Tenure module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement farm tenure and transfer goals as part of the whole farm plan.  Established farmers who are planning for the transfer of farm may also find their module useful.

The Holistic Business Management module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement early financial and resource management goals as part of the whole farm plan.

The Marketing module is designed to help beginning farmers and ranchers develop and implement their goals for market analysis, product establishment, and development of viable marketing channels.

The purpose of the Introduction to Whole Farm Planning module is to help beginning farmers and ranchers in Virginia to make informed farm planning decisions by introducing them to the whole farm planning process.

Future Harvest CASA initiated its Beginner Farmer Training Program (BFTP) in 2012, in partnership with Maryland Agricultural Resource Council (MARC). The program is focused on training Chesapeake-region farmers on managing a sustainable family farm operation. There are currently 10 trainees in the program for 2012.

Most farmers do some kind of planning on their farms nearly every day. Whole Farm Planning is distinct from other farm planning approaches because it ties all the planning you do together for the whole farm. This holistic approach is based on the short and long-term vision you and your family has for itself and the farm.

Virginia Farm Link program includes an online database designed to link farm owners interested in exiting agriculture with those seeking farms, and farm transition resources for information and resources from across the country.

Exploring the Small Farm Dream is designed to help aspiring farmers learn what it takes to start and manage a commercial agricultural businesses, and decide whether this is a path they really want to take. Both in person courses (offered in limited locations) or a workbook (for purchase) to work through on your own are offered.
